Today I am sharing 3 fun ways on how you can use your watercolor brushes. Of course you can stamp and color your images but let’s see 3 other ways you can use them …coloring outside the lines!
Altenew has released a new watercolor brush set that I am showcasing today. It’s called Tropical Fiesta and it comes with 10 colors. The set has a complete range of all the colors of the rainbow so it’s a great set to start with. And if you already have their other two sets then it’s a great addition to the current palette.
We celebrate this release with an inspirational blog hop and lots of giveaways. If you want to start the hop from the beginning please visit Altenew Card Blog.

For this card I used the Bold Bunch Stamp Set( ALTN | SBC | SSS ) and 4 brushes from the set. For the green leaves I used Lime and Sweet Leaf and for the flowers I usedĀ Fresh Lemon and Sunkissed. I apply the watercolor on the clear stamp, spray with water and then stamp. The result is a water colored looking background with no effort at all.
The sentiment is from the Script Words Die Set( ALTN | SBC | SSS ).I finished off the card with a few nuvo drops at the center of the flowers.
For this card I used Lime and Turquoise on a stamping block, Sprayed with water and stamped with that on watercolor paper. I got an instant water colored background … super easy to do… no watercolor skillsĀ required! Then I used the same technique as in the first card to stamp my flower.
The colors I used for the flower are Purple Wine, Lime and Sweet Leaf. The flower and the sentiment are from the Lavender Bud Stamp Set( ALTN | SBC | SSS ). It’s a little stamp set that is inexpensive but has everything you need to make lovely cards.
Finally for my third card I used again my watercolor brushes on stamps. This time though I sprayed lots of water on top of them and used my Mini MISTI ( SBC | ALTN | SSS ) to do the stamping. If you have lots of water on top of your stamps and force the door of your MISTI to close with speed then you get splashes! I just love the look, so artistic and perfect card for teenagers! Check the video tutorial for the technique.
The circle stamps and the sentiment are from the Trendy Circles Stamp Set ( ALTN | SBC | SSS ). The colors of watercolor brushes that I used here are Lime, Turquoise and Desert Night.
