Hi! Let’s start the week with an art journal, since I get so many requests for them!
I worked on my 8×8 disc bound journal. it’s a custom made one with thick waterco0lor paper. I did lot’s of fun techniques today including spraying, collage with die cuts and papers, shading with scribble sticks and even doodling and highlighting.
I used products from the Art by Marlene collection such as the Collage Paper [CPBM02]( JGG | AMZUK ) and the Die Cut Block 01 ( JGG | AMZUK ) and thee Die Cut Block 02 ( JGG | AMZUK ).
For the background I used Ranger Dylusions Shimmer Sprays in Polished Jade( SBC | SSS | JGG ) and Calypso Teal( SBC | SSS | JGG ) . For more visual interest I also used the 6 x 6 Graffiti Kisses stencil ( SBC )
I used the Scribble Sticks – Set 2 ( SBC | SSS | JGG ) to do my shading and also added lots of details with my Black Fude Ball Pen ( SBC | SSS | JGG ).
I love how bright and happy my page came out! The quote is from the Dylusions Border Coloring Sheets ( SBC | SSS | JGG ).

I really like Art by Marlene!! Through you I was introduced to Joggles and I follow Barbara’s videos (which I also love). I wasn’t able to get the items that I was wanting before because they were sold out. Will have to check back. Looking forward to seeing more of Marlene’s art products. I love this art journal page and some new ideas too! I was helping a friend this weekend with a quilters’ estate sale. This page reminds me of some of the ladies photos of their quilts and has me realizing the same principles in quilting can work with paper and an art journal (or even card)! Your so prolific and talented. I was wondering if you would ever consider doing pages for a childrens “busy book” or “pop-up” book with a story theme. I love your style and as a mother, a project like that is something I would love to pour my heart into for my three little ones. I know its probably unlikely, I just have not seen that with the die cuts yet and think it would be a ton of fun!
