Hi! I am sharing a fun video today where I create similar night sky backgrounds using different techniques. In all 3 examples I use similar colors but everytime I work on different surfaces and with different mediums, from distress inks, to alcohol inks, to watercolors.

To turn all the lovely backgrounds to cards I will be using my Glimmer Hot foil machine and the new Celestial Zodiacs collection by Spellbinders!

  1. The backgrounds and the finished cards are just great! I LOVE the foiling and would love to be able to get that system. Thanks for the video.

  2. I am a Libra too so that is my favorite card, but I do love all the techniques so will try those out. My brother loves anything space so this will be an ideal background for his birthday card this year!
I don’t see any flowers either, glad I am not the only one who makes a mistake once in a while!
The only thing I don’t have in my craftroom is a foiling machine but I might do some gold embossing instead.
Great video as always Vicky, see you next time!

  3. I’m in love with these backgrounds! I love galaxies and stars. The card with the libra is my favorite since I’m also a libra and I also really like the word artistic in it. It really fits the background. Thank you for sharing! I love watching your videos

  4. Flowers? What flowers?! All I see are unique looking stars!!!!! Thanks for sharing different ways to create a night sky. I’ve done it with Distress Ink, but not with watercolor or alcohol ink. What great ideas and what beautiful backgrounds. I too like to get my hands inky when I create although the alcohol ink is harder to get off when I’m done crafting (I use rubbing alcohol which is a bit harsh on the skin but works to take ink off). These are such beautiful and unique cards, Vicky. You knocked it out of the park again!!!! Thank you for the video.

  5. These are beautiful galaxy backgrounds and I’m going to try them. As for the stat flowers….they look fine and create the illusion of stars! All cards are gorgeous and thanks for sharing how to create these fantastic galaxy backgrounds!

  6. love your cards – very inspiring backgrounds and love that I am not the only one who has little boo -boos (what flowers ?- I don’t see any flowers hee -hee)

  7. Awesome cards, event the one with the foil fl…. ehh stars LOL
Thank you so much for sharing the differences in these gorgeous backgrounds, I love them all although my favorite is the alcohol background, Stay safe and have a great day.
