  7. Greetings Vicki —- such lovely cards but my favorite one is the one with butterflies — many thanks for the videos — enjoy them always —- have a nice and safe day — Ann

  8. Thank you for the video. I was thinking throughout what colourful paper I had to try something similar. My favourite was the butterfly one. Stay safe!

  9. Love them all but the one with the big sentiment is unusual. Thanks for all the tutorials on youtube. I have discovered a passion for mixed media art because of your tutorials. Love from India. xoxo

  10. In this video the inlaid flower is my favorite, but I really love all the cards you make. Take care and stay safe.

  11. Thank you for the ideas for busy backgrounds! I love them all ! Not sure I can pick a favorite! I am particularly fond of silhouettes with busy backgrounds!

  12. I always have a hard time using patterned paper, so thanks for all tips! My fave card is the first one. Love the rainbow background and how the white flowers pop against it!

  13. Hi Vicki! I love all your cards this time and appreciate how informative this was. If I had to pick, I’d say the first one, where you do a silhouette in white is fab. Also, the one where you die cut out a shape, then die cut again and did an “inlay” technique. Wonderful job!

  14. I love the white flower on the rainbow background, I think it’s stunning. Thanks for sharing your creativity Vicky. Stay safe xx

  15. Love love all your cards. I miss your SSS 10 Cards. You are so creative. I am always happy when to see your videos.

  16. Good morning Vicki, you made that kit look like a must have! My favorite was the cosmos. I love that die. All of the other cards are pretty too but the background and the Fran for the cosmo flowers is right up my alley.

  17. I love everything you make but if I have to choose one I would choose the last one !
I have a friend I would love to make a card like that for because when we find good people we need to tell them.

Today is my birthday and I could not have asked for a nicer surprise!

  18. Thank you for the inspiration in this Strange World we are living in right now!
I love the rainbow colors of the card kit. My favorite card is no 1 with the white flowers! Although I love the butterflies too!

  19. Βίκυ, λάτρεψα την κάρτα με τις πεταλούδες και τρέχω να τη φτιάξω!

  20. Ah, dear gal….this is like a little present for me. I’ve spent some of my time at home going through patterned papers. I love the stuff but hardly use it anymore. Your ideas are amazing. I follow you on feedly, but will bookmark this page for future reference. Even though I have too much paper I may just have to buy this paper pad (unless I win the kit here, of course!). Thanks a million and stay well.

  21. All five are great ideas that I am happy to try; however the inlay technique is my favorite. Sending well wishes to you and your family. Thank you for brightening our days.

  22. My favorite card is “you are my rainbow every single day”‘. The colors are so bright and vivid; colors make me happy. The white cosmos stems really stand out against the background. We all need a little happy color during these difficult times.

  23. I love them all, but the first one the best. Thanks for your wonderful videos! Just signed up for your emails.

  24. I love the white die cuts on top. It is such a contrast to the patterned paper that the element really pops. And that is a simple technique to be used with lots of patterned papers.

  25. This may be my favorite Simon card kit yet! I love it all, but I have to say those patterned papers are gorgeous. All your cards are wonderful, but I think my favorite is the first one using the beautiful Cosmos die. You’ve filled me with ideas — thanks for the inspiration.

  26. Thanks for sharing and showing how breaking busy papers down into more bite-sized pieces can make them a easier to use in card making. All beautiful cards – hard to pick a favorite. Stay well.

  27. I always love how you use patterned paper and these are just stunning! Very difficult to choose a favorite – I do love the bold butterflies against the white background. Thanks for the chance to win the kit – stay safe out there.

  28. Card no. 3 is absolut beautiful. I don’t have much dies, but the flower die I will love to own. I just LOVE all your videos, you are very inspiring.

  29. I absolutely love all of your work! I’ve been following you for years, thanks for all the fun and creative ideas that you share with the worl!

  31. I’m always a sucker for butterflies (I have so many butterfly stamps!), but I think the inlaid flower is my favorite.

  32. I love all your cards and I love everything rainbow. My favorite would have to be #4 though with the butterflies. I love everything butterflies too!!

  33. It’s very hard to choose which is my favorite, but I think the inlay die cuts and also using white die cuts are my favorites. Super idea! I love busy paper, but not always sure how to use it. Thank you.

  34. Hier, thanks for your videos. I really appreciate the new ideas and the tutorials. I love the 4the one with the die cutting. It just spreads hope and that’s all I need right now ?. Thank you for the giveaway and stay safe. To all those how read my comment stay safe to and never lose hope ❤.

  40. One thing I would like to do at this time is go through my papers and see what I have. I know I have some busy paper so this is perfect timing!!! Thanks for the ideas on how to put some of them to use (instead of hoarding them!). My favorite is #3. Love the way you did the inlay!! So simple and so beautiful. Thank you so much for this timely (for me!) video. May you be well, healthy and safe.

  41. Vicki these cards are fabulous and gave me great ideas. I need to make about a dozen thank you cards and I will employ some of your techniques. Thank you and keep well….Farley

  42. The cards are amazing! Although they ard zll awesome, i like the last card the best.
Thank you for the chance to win a prize. I appreciate it!

  44. Vicky, I always live everything you create. I will say my favorite on this post is the I miss you card using the die cut inlay technique.

  45. Wow, so difficult to choose just one. I think the one with the butterflies and the one with the flowers 🙂

  47. My favorite is the inlay die cutting card. The yellow and orange in the flower really stands out against the blue and green background! Of course, they are all gorgeous! Your videos always brighten my day! <3

  48. My favorite is Technique #5 with the simple white sentiment. This card showcases both the sentiment and the beautiful paper equally. Plus, who wouldn’t benefit from this positive message, especially now? TY, Vicki.

  50. All of the cards are beautiful I’m not sure I can pick a favorite, but thank you so much for the great inspiration. Stay healthy and happy so you can keep inspiring us with your talent ??

  51. Hi Vicky, Thank you for such amazing inspiration! I believe the butterflies are my favorite. You are right that I have several butterfly dies and I’m now thinking of how I could use them all to make a pack of note cards with the unifying color theme of the pattern paper.

  52. I always love your cards. From your shakers to the “oh, I’ve never thought to use it like that” cards. You are inspirational. Glad you are safe and sound in your new home! Thanks for sharing.

  53. Vicky, you make it hard for me to pick a favorite card from this selection….
Okay I love the butterflies card…love the colors

  55. Hi Vicki! All your cards are awesome. The one that pulls me at the moment is #5. Love how the words just pop on the rainbow paper. Thanks!
    marcia m

  56. Oooh, I LOVE that stamp set! The cards are all so colorful, each one a technique that makes them gorgeous, but to pick just one….I will have to go with the butterflies, each one so darn adorable.. thanks for sharing your talents.

  57. Oh how clever! I really love each of them. The first one is gorgeous! I’m picking the last one because it’s as beautiful as the first card and such a meaningful statement especially right now! I can see using this as a thank you card to several people I know. Your videos are always so inspiring too. Thank you.

  58. Always love your cards, Vicky! Here, I especially love #1 and #3. Can’t wait to dig into my stash and use your ideas—-I have TONS of busy papers! Thanks for all the tips.

  59. Hi Vicky from sunny Plovdiv. It’s very hard to choose – I love them all, but the shaker card is my favorite!
I hope you are doing fine and stay well in this crazy time we are living and also hope that you are settling in just fine in your new home.

  60. I love all the cards, but I think the shaker one is my favourite. Your video was very helpful with the suggestions on how to use brightly patterned papers, which I’ve always found difficult. Thanks x

  61. Thanks for sharing all your beautiful cards, you are always so creative. Sometimes I like to hold onto these colorful background papers so I can try to replicate them using different media. Hope you are well!

  62. I’m glad you posted this video. We have a bunch of busy patterned paper and didn’t know what to do with them. Great ideas! Love them all, especially the ones with die cuts on them.
Hope you and your family are safe and well. Hugs ? from North Carolina, USA ??

  63. Stunnng ways to use patterned papeers Vicky, it’s hard to choose which one I love most. I have two favorites, no 3 that is the one with the die cut inlayed flower, so beautiful and the ones with the butterflies, so gorgeous.
Thank you so much for sharing your inspiration, your great video tutorial, stay safe and have a wonderful day.

  64. These are all so stunning I don’t know which is my favorite. I think I’m partial to card #3 out of all of your cards. It’s just so beautiful. I never would have thought to do that. I guess I have no excuse and now have to use all those bold pattern papers I’ve been hoarding. Thanks for sharing.

  65. Love the way you used the background papers, I always have a hard time with good paper, you make it look so easy and pretty.

  66. Wow , these are just spectacular!! I don’t often use brightly colored papers but the contrast of these bold backgrounds and white elements just make everything POP!! My two favorites are the first and second ones, but they are all gorgeous. This kit looks fabulous and I’m craving that cloud sttencil. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cards with us on this dreary day.

  67. Love each and every card! My favorite would be the first on, using white cut outs for focal point. This is such a wonderful kit for making cards that will brighten all your loved ones days during this hard time around the world. Like the sentiment on the stamp set says …”After the Storm Comes the Rainbow”
    Stay healthy and safe,
    Angel

  68. All your cards are amazing! I don’t use patterned paper very often. Seeing your cards make me want to give it a go and see if it works for me as well as it does for you. It’s hard to pick a favorite but because I love using the inlay technique I would have to pick the I Miss You card. It’s stunning and simple at the same time. Thanks for all you do for us!

  69. I love all the cards, but my favorite is the one with the inlay patter focal image. THank you for your great information.

  70. Hi Vicki. This was a VERY difficult choice but I think the inlaid die technique using the same background in card #3 won me over. I am going to try to make a version of all five today. Daunted but prepared to try!!!

  71. Hi Vicky,
I love the card that says I miss you! That looks more like my style and I have to try it. I hope I can win this card kit! And I love all of your videos on YouTube.

  72. Loved all your cards but my favourite was the butterfly one, beautiful! What a fab kit too. Thanks for the opportunity to win and sharing your creativity.
    Kind regards, Simone – Blondecards_n_crafts.

  73. Its always a good day when I look at YouTube and see that you have posted a video. Thanks for the inspiration for using patterned papers, these are gorgeous cards, but I think I like the flower die cut with inlays.

  74. Bright, beautiful cards. Thanks for the great ideas . . . I will pull out all that paper I keep moving to the back of my stack and use them to brighten someone’s day!

  77. You always come up with ideas that look so simple, but are so beautiful! I especially love the butterfly card. I need to look in my stash. I’m sure I have some tucked away!

  78. Hi Vicky, my favorite is the one with the technique 4, although all the techniques are quite interesting.

  79. I usually look at my busy card stock when making cards and don’t know what to do with them a lot of time so I opt for plain card stock.
Now I’m feeling more confident to use what I have instead of casting them aside.

  80. I always love your card designs they are inspiring and encourage me to use my stash more creatively.
I love technique number 3, but really I find them all beautiful.
Many Thanks for your inspiration ?

  81. Hi Vicky and thank you for lovely ideas and cards that really brighten the day ❤️

  86. Hi Vicky, thank you for sharing these ideas. Your cards are as always really beautiful, but my favourite is n. 3

  87. I’m just loving all of your beautiful cards, and those rainbow papers are so uplifting and fun. If I have to pick just one favorite, it would be the butterfly design. 90. Vicky…as always you manage to inspire me. I tend to get overwhelmed by so many techniques but when it comes down to it, simplicity wins for me! I honestly can’t chose a favorite. I love all 5 cards! Thank you for your contributions to the crafting community! Stay safe my friend!

  91. Oh, Vicky! These cards are so beautiful! I really love that first one with the rainbow background and the white flowers! Gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful techniques!
    Tammy

  92. My favorite card is the butterflies. I love how both the butterflies and the base highlight the rainbow colors.

  93. OMG Vicky, you always offer great tutorials! I like all 5 cards, but if I have to select one, I will pick the inlay card. Looks delicate and really beautiful!

  94. Oh man, it’s hard to choose a favorite. All of them are amazing. But maybe the butterfly card edges out the others just barely! Thanks for sharing!

  95. I would love to win this kit. Your ideas to use busy paper are great. My favorite is the flower in white with the inserted pieces of the matching paper. Stunning card.

  96. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. (White) I have colourful backgrounds that I wanted to put quotes on. Ta Da
The butterflies and the inlayed flower are my favourite.
I’ve added a comment here and there for prizes. Are they sent worldwide? I’m in Canada.

P.S. You should put your steampunk pages on Tim Holtz Instagram.

    Take care

  97. Such lovely cards! I loved the butterflies and the pieced flower, 3rd card, these paper patterns are brightifully beautiful! I’d love to put my hands on this set. :))))

  98. My favourite is the card that says, “I miss you” – my daughter is in Wales and can’t come home until this horrible situation the world is in – ends. I love bright colours and your examples are beautiful!

  99. The bright colors are just what we need during these dark times. I love the flower one. You have such great ideas. Than you for sharing.

  100. Wonderful techniques. The colors are so vibrant. Thank you for sharing your ideas and talent! Always love to watch your videos!

  101. Dear Vicky,
I was admiring the card “I miss you” and didn’t want to take my eyes off of it: it seems that the flower is appearing out of the colorful background and slowly soaking in its petals the color of its background. I was thinking that if I keep watching this little miracle then I will see the leaves starting turning green. This card is mesmerizing, I simply love it!

  102. Hi Vicky I’m so excited to visit your blog. I have been following your YouTube videos for a while now and only just realised you have this blog!! I am truly inspired by your work. I’m loving technique #5 today. Off to read more of your blog. Stay safe

  103. I love all the ideas you presented but my favorite was the shaker card. thank you for sharing all of your talent! I always get inspired by you! Thanks for the chance to win.
    ~Gin~

  104. It’s difficult to pick only one when they’re all so pretty and different; however, I’ll have to say my favorite one is the one with the inlay cutting technique since it’s so artsy. Thank you for sharing all your ideas and talent with us!

  105. I love them all but especially I miss you……was supposed to go home for visit in April…..will have to plan for maybe September…..was a crafting holiday too……oh well I’m crafting, reading, planning garden and watching tons of utubes……always love yours

    ~Vanessa ♥️

  107. I think it is between #1 & #2! I can’t decide. I love the cas designs, they are beautiful, just as you said. Thanks for the inspiration, I love your videos.

  108. Vicky, I really enjoy Technique 5. Options for colored backgrounds are endless and I own so many alphabet stamps and dies as well as diecut sentiments and words, so this technique appeals to me. It shows that you took the time to make a special card, but is something that you can make the backgrounds ahead and personalize as needed. Thank you for such good ideas I also really like Technique 1 as it is somewhat the same idea as 5. Stay healthy and take care.

  109. Vicky, I could watch your videos ALL DAY LONG!!! Beautiful cards, as always but my favorite is the inlaid flower frame card. Hugs!!

  110. Hi Vicky, I have to say that I love all the cards you made in this tutorial. It gave me the idea to make a “thinking of you” card for a friend of mine that I have been wanting to make. But my favorite card is the first one “use white cut out on top”. I like it because not only does it, to me, represent that spring is coming, but that also better days may be ahead. Thank you so much for all the labor you put into these videos, especially in these dark and gloomy days that have befallen the US and around the world. I’m very grateful for your tutorials. It gives me time away from what is really happening around us. God bless you and keep you and your family safe.

  111. I just watched your YouTube video making the 5 cards. I really loved them all, but it came down to the inlay card and the big sentiment card. So close, but I’ll pick the inlay card as my favorite card today. ❤

  112. Vicky, how do you choose just one favorite? I love them all for different reasons. Since I can only pick one, I am going with #3, inlay die cutting. They are all beautiful. Thanks for sharing so many great idead.

  113. Hi Vicky, I love them all but my favorite is the inlay die cut flower! I have that die and am looking forward to doing this technique! Thank you for all you share on your blog. Hope you and your family stay well! XOXO

  114. The colorful cardstock is so uplifting. My favorite card is the third one. The inlay technique really let’s the flower shine.

  130. I always enjoy your cards so much and look forward to seeing how you use these kits. Although I would not normally use papers as bright as these, your cards are so beautiful and striking. They are all wonderfully made and designed, but card #3 is a favorite because of the lovely inlaid die cutting and flower. Thank you for sharing with us.

  131. Beautiful clean and simple card designs! I appreciate the great ideas, I make loads of inky backgrounds and you gave me some fantastic ideas to use for those, as well as busy patterned paper. I have to go with the flower frame with the inlaid die cuts as my favorite. Thanks for the giveaway! Stay safe:)

  132. If I had to only choose one, it would have to be the inlaid die cutting. I love the stark white on the bright rainbow colours. All the cards and techniques are beautiful though. I really love this kit and am a subscriber to the Kits but living in Australia, I couldn’t justify the cost when you factored in the exchange rate and these troubled times. The chance to win one is very much appreciated. Please keep the tutorials coming, they are definitely keeping me going. Thanks Vicky?

  133. I love all your cards. I especially love the inlay technique. The card is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for the inspiration ?.

  160. I can’t pick, I love them all, but based on the color. I love the splatter on the I miss you card, but the contrast of the first card…that white flower is awesome. I just love your paper, thank you.

  161. I love technique #3 : inlay die cutting. I love the look of the card and contrast of the two busy papers.

  162. Vicky, your cards are all so beautiful which makes it very difficult to choose, but I think the inlay card is my very favourite.
Thanks to you and Simon for the opportunity to win. It’s a very generous prize.

  164. Hello, I just absolutely love your style of mixed media. I found you on YouTube one evening when I was browsing for a video to watch and I have been hooked ever sense. This card kit would be so great to win. I love all your card ideas but I think technic #3 is my favourite though. Thanks for all your inspiration!

  165. I have 2 favorites- the die-cutting inlay flower frame card, and the butterflies!
All of the cards are beautiful and make me smile as well as giving awesome ideas for busy backgrounds! This is an awesome and timely kit- love it.
Thank you very much for your time, and effort, making these videos.

  166. I love technique #5. It still shows all of the beautiful paper. I love your videos. Thanks for sharing.

  167. I loved the thanks shaker card because I have some larger letters I had not thought about using like that.

  168. I especially like the big sentiments card. Great impact and a quick to make card.
    Love your style Vicky!

  169. it is actually rather difficult to pick just one as my favorite — they are all wonderful. *sigh* but the card that sticks in my mind the best is the butterflies 🙂
this kit looks like it would be tons of fun; i’m recuperating from 3 years of illness and now live in ‘assisted living’ and have no idea where any of my art supplies are (so my husband could find them and drop them off). but i am very happy to have reconnected with your youtube videos. 🙂

  170. I love the simplicity and the watercolor look of the final card! All are beautiful of course. Thanks for sharing such great ideas for busy paper as I always struggle with them.

  171. Love all the cards, especially the first one. I like the white solid flowers against that colourful background. So beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
    Hugs from Portugal

  172. Great Video on using busy patterned paper! My favorite card is the one with the big sentiment , We Need More People Like You in the World.

  173. I can’t decide based on the techniques…they’re all so cool. If I had to choose, it would would be based more on my preference for the patterned paper.

#1 and 4 seem like such simple concepts, but seeing them (sort of) together goes to show how versatile it is. There are endless possibilities (and you don’t have to have a cutting machine!).

Not sure what exactly a Shaker card is, but assume it has something to do with the way the word is cut out in #2? Regardless, this one jumped out immediately, along with 5. They aren’t fancy, yet still stand out. I’m also a big word/quote art person, so bonus points!

Then there’s number 3. I don’t know what to say other than it’s pretty darn cool. Looks like it is complicated to make. As with the flowers/butterflies above, this could be very versatile (I’m thinking framing a picture or something, the cutouts in the flower making a stained-glass effect, etc.).

  174. Wow, all the cards were beautiful. But my favorite was the white sentiment filling the page. That was just perfect and would make a quick card in a pinch. Thanks for the great tips!

  175. I love what you did with all of these and it’s hard to choose one favorite, but I will choose technique 3…the I Miss You card. These are great ideas for the bold patterned paper in this kit, but I have some alcohol ink backgrounds that I need ideas for and you’ve given me some. Thanks! I do love the “rainbow sentiments” in this set! 🙂

  176. You did a fantastic job with all the cards. My favorite is the last one! I like big sentiments and with such a colorful background, it is all that you need 🙂

  177. I love all your cards but if I had to pick one out of these ones it would be technique 4 with the butterflies, I just love butterflies xx

  178. I absolutely love all of your cards but my favorite is the butterflies. I laughed when you said that you figured everyone has butterflies in their stash because I do. Thanks for always being an inspiration!

  179. All of these are just beautiful and inspiring!?. I think if I had to choose one, my favorite would be the inlay flower card…just exquisite. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. Be safe

  182. Dear Vicky,

The Thanks shaker card is a close second.

Love your videos, thank you for your little light in these difficult times.

  183. Hallo from South Africa. All of them are gorgeous. If I have to pick just one it will be the inlay die cutting (number 3). My Mom and I love your videos.
    Leandri

  184. I must say I love them all but technique 3 maybe edges out the rest. I love watching your videos and hope you are staying safe in this crazy time. Thank you for sharing!!

  185. Your 5th card is my favorite. They are all beautiful, but that one is a very pretty look, with the message done with resist.
