Hi! Today I am showcasing the January card kit by SimonSaysStamp. The kit is called “Snowflake Builder” and I just love the color combo! It includes lots of fun products such as snowglobes, a stamp set, a snowflake die, a jar of matte medium, a blue alcohol ink, mica flakes, patterned paper, cardstock and envelopes.

1. alcohol ink card
For the first card I used the blue alcohol ink that came in my kit. I applied that on yupo paper and some alcohol to move the ink easier with a straw while blowing. The blue background helps the cut out snowflake pop even more!
I also did the lift-ink technique on the background that added some extra interest and visual texture.
2. heat embossing card
For this card I layered two stamps of snowflakes one on top of the other for a more complicated look. I did some simple heat embossing with white powder and then applied my sentiment on top. For some extra silver sparkle I matted the panel with glitter cardstock and added silver sequins on the snowflake.
This is a square card, that’s 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 and it fits in a standard envelope.

Realize after so many years of card making I don’t have snowflake stamps. Have dies though, so do like there is a whole large set of snowflake stamps. Merry Christmas Vicky! Love your cards. Snowflakes are MY favorite of all the winter images. I wish this kit would have come out earlier. I told my Hubby I really want this kit but gifts were already bought. I am hoping they don’t sell out, gonna try to figure out how to buy one.

Both of your cards are beautiful, and with two very different looks. My favorite part of the kit is that big snowflake image that you used. It’s so delicate it could also be used as a doily or lace design as well. Would love to try those mica flakes. Merry Christmas!

Off course the whole kit is great, but if I have to choose…. I would love the alcohol ink, (that blue colour is absolutely gorgeous!!!), or the stamps.
