cross stitched gift tags

It’s finally Friday and I have some fun cross-stitched tags for you !

cross stitched gift tags

These tags are not easy to mass produce! Make sure you hang them to a gift of that special one who will appreciate your handmade project and your time and effort! The white snowflake is for my mom’s gift for sure! To make these I used the CROSS STITCH TAG Die-Namics ( SSS | MFT ). It comes with the tag die, the grid that you can use it on top of other shapes too, and little dies that cut out the top of the tag and reinforcements for the slit.

On the official mftstamp.com site you will find some pdf files to download with lovely designs. Or you can just go online and find pretty much any image in cross-stiching pattern your heart desires!

Now this is the lazy way! No time for stitching?! Just use your markers and draw your x’s . They give the same look … but not the same feel I have to say! For this tag I used my Kaisercraft Gel Pens ( SBC | SSS ) to add a touch of shine.

Gift tag 2

For this tag I used white thread on red cardstock. I love the texture and dimension of the snowflake and it’s so special to hold it. You can go ahead and fill in the rest of the pattern with red floss for a completely finished look. I didn’t bother, because first I didn’t have the time and second I think it looks perfect as it is! But that’s up to you!

And here is my last tag in a different color combo, using a kraft colored cardstock and touches of gold. The reindeer pattern was provided by mftstamps.com but I changed the nose into red .. so here comes Rudolf! Again you can fill in with floss the rest of the grid if you like.

  1. The gel pen idea is great, especially if you know the tags will probably just get thrown out after Christmas. Cute projects!

  2. So pretty. This would be a great way to decorate a ‘hospital’ tree. Use washie tape in stripes to stick lines on the wall in graduated sizes from small the the top and increase until the bottom. Then stick these cute tags all over it along with any Christmas or Get Well cards received. Doesn’t harm the paint, easy to take down, and very appreciated by patient as they can enjoy the sight from their bed. Thanks for some great inspiration. (Some hospitals or nursing homes don’t want fragrance from flowers to irritate patients so this would be odor free, too!)

  3. These are so amazing. I’d love to be able to make little ornaments and tags from these this year. Thank you so much for sharing. So many ideas. I don’t know if I can get these, but I do have a lot of embroidery floss and fabric, so maybe I will hand make some of those. ???

  4. These tags are adorable. Love the idea of doing them with pens, I didn’t realize it was done with pen when I saw the pictures on the blog. Lovely! Thanks for another fabulous video.
