Hello everyone! Today I am back with a totally different project!
Altenew has just released a new scparbook collection and we are celebrating with a fun blog hop. There is ton of inspiration and giveaways along the way so hop along with us! If you want to start the hop from the beginning please visit the Altenew blog here.
This scrapbook collection is right on trend with fresh colors, watercolored elements, geometric designs, and florals. The papers and embellishments have been designed to help you document your precious family memories, but are versatile enough to use on any layout, journal, or card project.
So today I created a scrapbook layout using elements from this collection. I do scrapbook and I like to mainly create layouts from our family travels. But I never share them. I don’t like to share photos of my kids online and that’s the main reason I avoid it. But today is an exception, I am sharing a lovely layout using a photo of my husband and kids that I took last summer while we were in Copenhagen. In the photo no faces are shown so I feel safe 🙂
It was a lovely day in Copenhagen and after a lot of walking around we enjoyed an ice-cream looking at the view. For my layout I used that gorgeous paper with the color washes and I combined stickers, alphabets, enamels, wood veneers and die cuts from the collection.
It’s a quick and easy layout to create and you will see the process in the video. I love keeping the photo as the main focal point and then create clusters in different areas.
I printed my journaling and I also stamped the date the photo was taken.
Fun elements such as wooden stars, enamels and thread really add that extra something to your layout.

Very pretty bright layout. I love the embossing powders the most seeing as they are the ‘in’thing at the moment, I am working on a lot of cards at the moment which are foiled and embossed in all the metallic colours…. however… I see a few I don’t have in the new collection!

Its all lovely but I don’t tend to use stickers and such… I think my favorite is the double sided paper. Your lay out is very nice…great picture as well

The best thing about this to me are the chipboard and wood veneer cut outs/stickers. I adore dimension and these are beautiful. I also love that this is watercolor. I always feel like watercolors are more forgiving in that unintentional blotches end up being the best looking things! Thanks again for sharing. :o)

This really light and refreshing. I love how yohow you arranged everything. Realally like that all the embellishments are sticker type. No mess with glue except for or the photo and accent strip.

Vicky, I didn’t know that you scrapbooked too! I would love to see more layouts and I love the photo. It’s a simple photo and a simple layout, but it’s also so beautiful! You immediately made me think of similar photos I have that would work with a similar layout! What do I love most in the release? That’s a hard one though… I always love Altenew’s stamps, and the sentiments in this set are wonderful and two that I don’t have; I also love the papers, although I’m not so sure about the large tree paper… but I think I’m really excited about the embossing powders! I have to see if anyone else on the blog hop uses them! 🙂
