Today I am back with a really fun technique. If you love using die cut images or do a lot of paper piecing I know you will love this. In the video I am going to show you how you can make your cut outs to look puffy and dimensional but without allowing the recipient to look underneath them … the foam tape is totally covered up!

To create my card I used a new stamp set with a very unique design, the “Under the sea” from the new STAMPtember release by SimonSaysStamp.

I did all the coloring using distress oxide inks and in the video I am going to demonstrate the different looks that you get when you apply the ink with a Mini Ink Blending Tool ( SBC | SSS ) and a Blender Brush ( SSS | SBC ).

The top of my jelly fish is dimensional and has a foam tape underneath. But as much as you turn the card around that foam tape is not visible.

To finish off my card I did add some bubbles with my Nuvo Crystal Drops ( SBC | SSS ), on top of the jelly fish as an extra accent and on the background as bubbles.

  1. Vicky you have such great ideas. I love how you domed the jelly fish and popped them up. Its very subtle but I am sure in your hand it translates beautifully.

  2. I love it! I have the Oxide inkks, but have yet to play with them. Now, after seeing how well they blend, you have given me the itch to get playing.

  3. I love how you layered the oxide Inks for your under-water images! Great idea for adding depth. And the curving of the jellyfish is genius! Lots of great and inspirational ideas. Thank you!

  4. I love this card–it’s just perfect! Thank you so much for sharing all that you do–I have learned so much from your blog and videos!

  5. I love this idea, Vicky! Thank you for always inspiring! Your card is gorgeous and I really enjoyed your video!

  6. Very beautiful. I always forget how many of my crafting techniques are interchangeable. I use the same technique to curve gum-paste flower petals and leaves, when I decorate cakes. I don’t know why I never thought to use it on cards, as well. Thank you, Vicky. ???

  7. Vicky, you are so talented. I am in awe with every video. You show us in a way even though we don’t have your talent we can do a pretty good copy. So enjoy every video.

  8. Love this card. What a great technique to “hide” the foam tape and still have the dimension. I will have to give that a try when I have an image that it will work with. Thanks for another great video.

  9. Thank you Vicky for a great card and all the tips you always give on your video’s. I have learned again a lot!
