Another Halloween card today, this time using the Haunted house die by Sizzix and Tim Holtz.
I hope you can see all the texture I got on the haunted house by embossing it with black glittery embossing powder! A great way to add something extra on an otherwise flat black cardstock. It really helps the haunted house stand against the dark background.
For my night sky I decided to use good old distress inks instead of the oxides. Guess what? After getting used to the oxides it seemed like a labor to blend ink in such a big area! You can tell how I love my oxides!!!
For the windows I used vellum, that give one more texture to the card and that beautiful glow as if the haunted house is actually light up !

I love the haunted house with its glowing windows and the sliver of gold moon. I don’t own Distress oxides (yet), but I can tell they blend easier. I have added the Nuvo gluee to my wish list. So tired of unclogging my fine-tip applicator.

Love both the cards…the witch and the haunted house. I really liked the texture and sparkle of the embossing powder on the haunted house. What a great idea! That also goes for using the velum and markers for the windows. Your creativity never ceases to amaze me. I love all the attention to little details. I agree that is what makes the difference in an ok card/piece of art and an extraordinary one.

Halloween in the U.S. is becoming more and more glitzy and your haunted house card certainly reflects that. Vicky your choices of the glitter embossing powder as well as the colored vellum were spot on to make this card a one of a kind.
