It’s time for a new art journal layout! This time I have created a very colorful rainy day…
I have created my background by using a brayer and my distress paints. I did lots of stamping and stenciling on top to add more texture and interest while trying to keep everything quite subtle.
Aren’t those boots just lovely?! All those colors just make my day even if it is actually raining outside!
For my raindrops I did a cool technique with my nuvo glitter drops. Love how they add just enough sparkle on my pages!
As always I used my go to techniques of shading and highlighting that I love so much!
And that final touch of hanging the raindrops from the clouds with those faux stitched lines add such a whimsical touch to my layout.

I just love everything about this art journal page. 🙂 The boots remind me of my children (happy memories) and the say is great. My favorite color is blue, so that also help. ..It is a happy & uplifting…. Like the way you made the rain drops. Thank you for sharing and inspiring all of us.

This is so lovely! I am curious, I can never smudge markers to shade like you do with your fingers; the waterproof ones I’ve used dry immediately. Do these Faber-Castell markers have a longer dry time or something? i would LOVE to be able to blend and shade as you do. Thank you!
