Today I am sharing a mixed media canvas. How gorgeous are those flowers by Penny Black? I usually get this question, if I make canvases and the answer is yes, using the same techniques as in my art journals.
The only difference is that I can go as dimensional as I want to when working on a canvas. In this case I will show you a technique that I like to make my flowers look dimensional.
This mixed media canvas will decorate the wall in my craft room along with other tags, canvases and cards I like to use for decoration.
And I couldn’t stay away from a striking color combination using primary colors. Adding those script die cuts by Penny Black gave a whole new meaning to my canvas, since this is what I do on my craft room!

I tried working on canvas a while back, but my stamping was never great. Thank You for the idea of using a Gesso wash to the background, it seems to make it all so much easier! Lovely flowers and that stenciling is so gorgeous! 🙂
