Hi everyone and welcome to another how-to video.
Today I am sharing a “Thank you” card. You can never have enough of those. I had this gorgeous background stamp for months and used it only once. I believe it deserves better!!! So here it is:

Check out how I used my “earthtone Olive” WOW! Embossing powder to create the background. Did you know that wow! embossing powders are specially formulated and do not stick all around your paper? They are anti-static and they stick only where they are supposed to!!!

In the video I also share my way of storing paper scraps. I use an accordion folder that I’ve marked each section and I store my scraps by color. Here are a couple of photos where you can see the labels on each section…

I hope you had fun and got inspired today! I’ll be back during the week to share some more projects using WOW! embossing powders!

Until then… be creative!!!

  1. LOVE this card! I just placed an order with SSS this morning and now am adding more to my wish list….it’s never ending! Have a wonderful Sunday!

  2. Wow, great save!!! I LOVE it!!! SO elegant and vibrant!!! 😀 Missed the tune… it was too low ): I usually hum along (: Maria is too adorable… those little helping hands make me smile! You should totally record her making art and publishing it!!! That would be a delight to watch!!! (: Off I go to have a crafty day!!! Thanks for the inspiration!!! (;

  3. Ohh! And thanks SO much for the brilliant tips of storing your scraps by colors!! I currently have them in separate folders, but the accordion file works better, because it keeps everything together, yet neatly organized!!! LOVE!!

  4. I love how you store your papers and scraps, Vicky, and what a beautiful card! The Leafy Vines stamp is one of my faves – love how it looks with those pretty flowers! Thanks for another awesome video! 🙂

  5. What a great card–that’s my favorite Hero Arts stamp, too! And I guess great minds think alike–I store my scraps in an accordion folder, too, and I LOVE it!

  6. Very nice! Love that background stamp and that you embossed with it. Such a pretty card!
I store my scraps similarly although mine are in a file box thingy. I used to save scraps of any size but now I’m really being a bit more selective because my scraps were starting to take over my room!

Always love your videos….I realized when I got up this morning I hadn’t seen one from you for Sunday (and I was gone most of the day)so I came right here with my first cup of coffee and there you were to start my Monday! 🙂

Thanks, as always, for the inspiration!

You ended up with a lovely card. That white frame around it just made it pop. the way you cut out the leaves and the little roses were just the finishing on top. A really lovely card.
It made me feel good to see that you too sometimes are not happy with the card and felt free to do something a bit different to make it work and pull it together. I have to do this a lot of times with my own cards. They just don’t feel right…they need something more. The white frame around it was magic. It was fun hearing your voice too. Makes me feel like I know you more.

  8. I am so glad to know that other people change their mind in the middle of making a card also! I have an idea in mind and end up not liking what I started with and changing mid stream. Thank you.

  11. Vicky I have watched your art journal videos and love your work. Am excited to find your.com site with your cards. Beautiful work. I ooh and ahh out loud when I watch your videos.

  12. Hi Vicky! Well I love seeing your process. When I don’t like things I go thru the same types of process that you do. Beautiful card. Thanks for sharing! Hi Maria!! Love seeing your little hands pop in front of the camera. Love seeing you help your mommy too. Thanks a good girl!

  13. Awesome way to store scraps. I have tried boxes, and well, you know what has happened is that I have too many boxes and they take up so much space. This works! Target has these little expanda folders for $1, can’t beat that for frugality. Thanks!

  14. Oh my goodness…when you first started this card I thought, “Well, this won’t be a card for me'” because I was not crazy about those flowers. But what a gorgeous card it turned out to be. You are amazing. What an eye for design and color. I love, love, love watching all your videos again and again. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us! You ARE an inspiration!!
