Aris (my DH) normally stays away from my crafting space. But today he decided he should try all my supplies.

He said: “I should use them at least once, after all they are costing us a fortune!” LOL!

So he got crafty and was into distress inks and vintage look… well he is watching all my videos each week, so at least in theory he knows how everything is done! When his project was finished he was so proud of it so I decided to share some photos with you!

Checking colors:

Check the background paper he created… yes that started as a white piece of paper! Cool isn’t it? He even used the edge distresser!

and here he is distressing the base card

and now I present you his fabulous card: TAAAA DAAAAAAAAA

and here are some close ups:

Check the embossed sentiment and the deliberate coffee stain!

and here is the flower!

Well, I think I will ask him to make a video on how he did that coffee stain! ha!

Has your DH ever played with your supplies? If you posted about it, share a link in the comments, I’d loved to see it!

  1. How fun!!! 🙂 Such a sweet card. I hope he gave it to YOU! 😉

My DH has only used my heat gun to soften plastic tubing so he could bend it…. oh, and my trimmer for various documents…

  2. Oh my! I think he is really quite talented! I totally love his coffee stain! Very original! No, my hubby does not touch anything in my craft room, not sure who is more frightened about whether he would, me or him!

  3. Awesome card! I think he’s been practising in secret. 😉 My hubby got super creative one day and designed a Christmas Tree Box for me. It’s been one of the most popular things on my blog… ever! I’m not sure whether to feel proud or annoyed by that… lol

  4. Wow…I’m impressed with your hubby’s handiwork! My hubby ‘borrows’ my craft knife all the time…but not for crafting! He did make me a birthday card once which I was pretty impressed with.

  6. Great card. He has talent. My husband will not enter the craft room…too scary. He fears ending up on a scrapbook page.

  7. That cannot be his first card! Inking, distressing, embossing, cutting & twine on 1 card?? I think you have a secret crafter! MDH made me a bday card once, it was the best gift! Normally he stays out of my studio (I secretly prefer it that way!), but he was brave and gave it a go. I think he’s a little envious of my toys!

  8. That is really his first card is it. It’s too good to be his first.

Yes, DH got into my cardstock and paper cutter when I was at class and he helped the kids with their book report story board. It’s cute seeing him use my huge PINK tape runner.

  9. My husband wouldn’t even think about touching my supplies, BUT yours did a fantastic job – I would like to see the steps in making that background lol especially the coffee stain 🙂

  10. Wish my DH made something creative and beautiful like yours – mine just finishes my favorite glue!
I actually came here to thank you for all you do at Lily Pad – it is so inspiring – and now I’m leaving here with a big smile on my face – thanks for that too !!!

  11. Ah ha ha ha…I want a video of that coffee stain. Loved Aris’s card and so happy you shared it sweet Vickyaroo!!!!!!!! Aris is such a doll but, I am glad his real business is creating an awesome LINK MANAGER!!!!!!! Love the new changes too. You both rock!! HUgs, Kathy

  12. I am so impressed and think he did a great job! You are very lucky to have him be so interested in your wonderful crafting skills

Unfortunately, my hubby pays no attention, and only comments ever so often about how much MORE I can fit in my room. He’ great about putting together new gadget for me or taking all my empty boxes to the recycle center, but as far as creating…No CLUE!!

I guess I really can’t complain, as he also is very good about all the time I spent creating, not to mention my shopping sprees!!

Love the “Coffee Stain”…he must have watched some of Ti’s videos!! LOL!!
